Nicole Hansen, Ed.D., EMT-P, CIC is a seasoned paramedic, educator, and researcher. After nearly a decade working in the NYC 911 system, Dr. Hansen stepped into an EMS leadership role, managing over 70 employees, overseeing quality assurance and quality improvement (QA/QI) initiatives and developing competency-based training opportunities to expand clinical competencies for better patient experience.
In her tenure as an educator, Dr. Hansen has taught hundreds of EMT and paramedic students at EMS education programs across the metropolitan NY region.
As a researcher, Dr. Hansen is passionate about investigating best practices in EMS education including: improving accessibility, implementing strategies for neurodiverse learners, and bolstering mental health supports.
