Nicole Hansen, Ed.D., EMT-P, CIC is a seasoned paramedic, educator, and researcher. After nearly a decade working in the NYC 911 system, Dr. Hansen stepped into a leadership role, managing an EMS department of over 70 employees. Part of this position includes regular oversight of quality assurance and quality improvement (QA/QI) program, developing training programs for new clinical initiatives, and ensuring skill competency of staff members.
In her tenure as an educator, Dr. Hansen has taught hundreds of EMT and paramedic students at EMS education programs in Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau, and Suffolk.
As a researcher, Dr. Hansen is passionate about investigating best practices in EMS education including: improving accessibility to learning, implementation of andragogical practices, classroom management strategies for diverse learners, and mental health supports.
